During the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty, the Yunnan Mint issued Guangxu Yuanbao silver coins, commonly known as Yunnan Dragon Silver Dollars. Minted to facilitate local commerce in the southwestern frontier, they served as the primary circulating currency in this region, witnessing the evolution of border trade and monetary reform in the late Qing Dynasty and occupying a distinctive place in the modern Chinese silver coin system.

Each coin bears the inscription “Guangxu Yuanbao ” on the obverse with place and denomination marks, and a vivid dragon motif surrounded by auspicious cloud patterns on the reverse. Distinctive craftsmanship features set Yunnan dragon dollars apart from coins struck by mints in other provinces.

Every silver coin is sealed in an independent grading slab to prevent oxidation and physical damage, preserving its condition for long-term appreciation. The full set is presented in a refined leather gift box, together with complete, traceable certification papers.

Yunnan Dragon Silver Dollars have long been sought-after among numismatists. Complete sets such as this are far rarer than individual specimens and save collectors the trouble of piecemeal acquisition. These small silver pieces carry the marks of turbulent late-Qing monetary history and embody the cultural heritage of southwest China. Suitable for thematic collection by coin enthusiasts, as well as high-end gifts for business or festivals, they deliver both ornamental value and potential preservation of wealth.
